Greatest Top 5 College Football Podcasts

The 2023 college football season is coming faster than you think. Lindy’s, Athlon and Phil Steele are all great to get your tangible news from. The better way to learn about the upcoming season is to throw a podcast on and listen. There are a few out there that really deliver everything that you need. They have the perfect mix of news stats and entertainment. Here is On The Card Sports’ unbiased list of the top 5 college football podcasts.

#1 The Late Kick with Josh Pate

Josh and the 247 sports crew does a great job delivering college football to the masses. The real reason he is the King of college football podcasting is, he doesn’t leave anyone out. With 130 teams in FBS football, it is very hard to have a nugget about each team. I am not saying he spends 30 mins talking about UMass football. If you ask him in the dms, he will have something to give you. The other great thing Late Kick does is go to the games. Each week during the season, Pate will be at a high profile game and he keeps it on a rotation. Don’t be a casual. Check him out.

#2 Unnecessary Roughness

Barstool’s college football podcast comes in here at number 2 because of the entertainment. Brandon Walker is an electric factory when you get him going on a college football topic. The man’s takes are usually right-on, and he won’t pull any punches on them. The unbiased opinions and honesty go a long way with me. Now his co host Kayce Smith is the best set-up guy in the game. She knows when and where to poke at Brandon like only she can. Kayce knows ball and more importantly knows how to steer a show. I can’t leave out the two best producers in the game with JackMac and Katie Stats. These four just work; like the ridiculous college football fantastic four.

#3 Cover 3 Podcast

Love this college football podcast!! Gambling, gambling, gambling. The four guys, Chip, Danny, Tom and Bud are college football experts that mesh well together. This is definitely the podcast for the gamblers of college football. Every week on Friday they come out with their picks. As long as you don’t listen to Danny, always follow Bud, ride with Chip on ridiculous odds bets and listen to Tom anything Big Ten you’ll be doing great. The guys will bust balls and talk football and gambling. What is not to love.

#4 The Spiked College Football Show

This is a totally unbiased selection at number 4 with On The Card Sports’ very own college football podcast. The guys at Spiked College Football show do it a little different than the majority. Tyler, Johnny, JC and Rob come at college football like guys at a bar discussing ball. We are just passionate fans discussing the best sport in the world. JC, the good looking one, that provides us good solid takes and our female audience. Rob being the analytical nerd. Tyler always providing the best producing of the show, along with one liners. Johnny, yes me, being the absolute star. Not only with his amazing picks, but the absolutely brilliant hot takes that seem to always be right.

#5 That SEC Football Podcast

This podcast is the mecca for all SEC college football fans. The only reason it is at number 5 is because it is only the SEC. I love SECMike and CousinShane for all their homer love. The SEC deserves homer love because it is the preeminent league in college football. I don’t think I have heard these two bad mouth a single team in the league. While I will do it, Brandon Walker will, lord knows Danny Kannell will too. If an SEC school is terrible, we will say it and say it with our chest. These boys won’t do it, they know their audience. I respect the hell out of that. And to be honest, no one in media knows more about the SEC than these boys. Plus, they just have the voices for podcasting. Let’s be honest, Mike is silky smooth and Cousin Shane’s opening to every pod is exceptional.

There is the top 5 college football podcasts on the airwaves right now. Your rankings of the pods may be different, but there are no better 5 than these. Closing in on 130 days left until college football starts. Can’t Wait. Follow us on:Twitter, Tik Tok, Instagram & Youtube.

Put These On The Card!

Not off to the greatest of starts at 1-2 this week on “put these on the card”. The Nats hit of +194 helped us save a little face. I am slowly dialing in the MLB gambling, we are right there to being perfect every day. Remember it is the long game, this week will have another positive week going into the NBA & NHL playoff.

Now I have had some feedback. Johnny why are you not doing run lines? You are only doing moneyline plays for MLB. Yes that is correct. The reason is, baseball to me is a win/loss game. By that I mean, I can tell you most of the time who will win but the runs can be all over the place. I just feel comfortable, even with the juice ball plays to just give winners.

New York Yankees ML-172 @ Cleveland……Again system play here for me. I have now only lost twice when betting the Yanks. They lost yesterday, it is a guarantee they win tonight especially with Cole on the hill. I will keep riding the Yanks to wins until they stop being hot.

Boston Red Sox ML +154 @ Rays….This is my stubborn pick of taking whoever is playing the Rays until they lose. I can’t believe this Rays team is still undefeated, most fans can’t name 4 guys on the team. I will be there on the other side cashing the ticket when they do lose and I think it is tonight. Go Sox!!!

Philadelphia Phillies ML -148 vs. Marlins…. The Phillies have their best pitcher in Nola going tonight. They are at home at their bats were alive yesterday scoring 15 runs. I think they stay hot tonight and take down the Marlins.

Put These On The Card!

A winning record is a winning record even at 11-10 for the week. Yesterday’s “put these on the card” had winners and one long shot that didn’t pay off and that is ok. The Yankees’ and the Defenders’ both handled their business, and the eventually the Rays will lose. I have another new betting rule for this years baseball bets. Bet against the Rays until they lose when the opposing team has plus money.

They are not winning every single game and I will take the opposite side until I am right. Also, I cashed out the Brooks Koepka future on the Masters at +2200 before the 4th round. I did that because 22 times my bet is enough and I had a hunch he would lose it. It is because I have fantastic gambling eyes watching live events. But I digress with my awesome live gambling to give you great picks to start the week off right.

New York Yankees ML +128 @ Cleveland…. I am going to stick to what works and what I know. This year it is simply just taking the Yankees every day when you like the pitching matchup. I know its Bieber, but the Yankees hit him well and they are going to win this game. Trust me I have only lost once betting on the Yanks this year, oh and still fuck them.

San Diego Padres ML +116 @ Mets …. The Mets are frauds, they are not a good team and they can’t beat good teams. I know our “Ace” Scherzer is on the mound, but let’s be honest, it is over for him. Mad Max has been missing spots and getting hit hard. He is old it happens. Then the hitting is sporadic at best. It is just the year to bet against the boys. If my team is going to be a bunch of losers, I might as well make money on it.

Washington Nationals ML +194 @ Angels…… To be honest, it is 11:20 pm on Sunday night. I write the blogs a day early to get the best odds. And Fuck Fanduel for not having the Rays vs. Red Sox game listed yet. What bullshit that is, I was and will be hammering Boston. I do have to give you 3 winners a night though, so take the Nats in this spot for nice odds. The Angels are frauds when Ohtani isn’t pitching and Corbin was a good pitcher once upon a time.

Monday’s after a holiday don’t have to suck, well as long as you follow my picks and win money. As a collective group let’s start the week off right with a 3-0 opening day of the week. Always put these on the card and makes sure to tell your friends.

Put These On The Card!!

Yesterday’s “put these on the card” went 2-1. Somehow the Mets decided they want to play winning baseball. Overall this week we are 9-9, not too bad especially hitting a few +200 bets.

Now .500 is not what we aim for, because we want to make money. Remember however we still have Koepka +4400 to take the Masters, and he is up 3 strokes. Come on Brooks take this home and show the PGA whats up. If we cash that ticket then this is a very successful week, so you’re welcome.

D.C. Defenders ML +100 @ Seattle…… I know a lot of people might not be watching the XFL. Whoever isn’t watching is 100% missing out. The football is on a high level and the fans are loving the product on the field. I have watched every weekend and the Defenders are far and away the best team in the league at 6-1. The dual QB’s of Kind and Ta’Amu are racking up the points while Coach Barlow’s defense shuts teams down. Seattle has turned up the offense lately but DC and plus points is always a bet for me.

New York Yankees Ml -148 @ Baltimore….. They didn’t let me down yesterday and I have bet them almost every day. I only have one loss with the Yankees this year and I am going to let it ride when I like the matchups. Cortes will shut down the O’s lineup and the Yankees bats will continue to drive in runs. Lets Go Bronx Bombers.

Oakland Athletics ML +245 @ Tampa….Look do I think the A’s are a better team? No. Do I think they would win this game more than once out of 100 times? No. I do believe though all things must come to an end. The Rays are 8-0, they will not be going 162-0, so they will have to lose at some point. That point is coming soon and if I can get +245 on the team that can do it, I take it. Lets go A’s!!

Lets end the week with a 3-0 Sunday record and pray Brooks pulls through on that huge +4400. Happy easter and be sure to: Follow us on : Twitter, Tik Tok, Instagram & Youtube.

Put These On The Card!

I have to be honest about yesterday’s “put these on the card“. I played head games with myself so the teams I wanted to win would win. In doing that I gave out bad picks. I just really needed a Mets Win, and a Yankee and Braves loss. I apologize for the deceit but hopefully you faded me anyways.

I can’t ever tell you if I will do that again, but what I can say is if you see me betting against my team and for hated teams you know what to do. So far for the week on “put these on the card” we are 7-8, which isn’t great. Remember, however, I do have the future Masters pick in Koepka at +4400. If he pulls it off or you cashed out early we are still very much up this week.

Miami Marlins ML +144 @ Mets…. I promise no games here, I just like the Marlins to win. It is their second time seeing Senga in as many weeks. My guess is the hitting coach will have a good game plan with him and his ghost pitch. The Mets bats have been so inconsistent and the injuries keep coming. Marlins might actually be a good team as well.

New York Yankees ML -132 @ Baltimore….. This I promise is not another game like yesterday. There is no chance in hell this team, this lineup loses three in a row overall and 2 to the O’s. Not going to happen, the bats wake up and the Yankees pitching prevails.

Arizona Diamondbacks +136 vs. Dodgers… I told you in previous editions of “put these on the card”, the Braves rule of betting. Well here is another one, bet the Diamondbacks plus money if you like the matchup. I think the D-Backs lineup, who are fastball hitters, can get to Syndegaard early and often. I love them here at home to beat the Dodgers.

Put These On The Card

So I did say on yesterday’s “put these on the card” that we would go 3-0. Look I am not perfect Ok? I am however 7-5 for the week. Also my Masters picks are sitting at first, fourth and tenth respectfully after round one.

I am not going to sit here and brag that I have a 44-1 in the Masters on top of the leader board. Not my style, my style is humbly giving you the best picks everyday. I am guaranteeing a 3-0 day, probably.

Atlanta Braves ML -130 vs. Padres….I know they let me down yesterday but this is not a team that loses two games in a row very often. I am playing the numbers game here, the Braves will win. I will get back to my winning ways and this is a damn near guarantee.

New York Yankees ML -126 @ Baltimore… Just like the Braves this team will not lose back to back games very often. Also lets be honest they have been great for me on “put these on the card”. As much as I hate them, I love money more so give me the Bronx Bombers tonight.

Miami Marlins ML +164 @ Mets….. I am so done with my own team. The Mets are just bad, just like I said they would be in my preview blog. I don’t care they always win home openers. This “put these on the card” daily blog is about winning, not what I wish would happen. Marlins win in Queens today.

Put These On The Card

So we have not had a perfect 3-0 day yet on “Put These On The Card“. Nobody is perfect and if two out of three was good enough for Meatloaf it is good enough for me. This week we stand at 6-3 not bad, at all.

I have been giving y’all daily winners and will do that again today. I do however have my 2023 Masters picks I wrote yesterday, for you olds just click the highlighted link above. I’m feeling it today, we are going 3-0 and really getting up some units with these picks.

Chicago White Sox ML 136 vs. Giants…. No way in hell that the South Siders lose back to back games vs. this bad team. They have Lynn on the mound, they are home, and they need a win. The bats will back them up as it is a get a way game for the Giants who just want to leave Chicago. Give me the ChiSox.

San Diego Padres ML +138 @ Braves…. I know I have been riding the Braves to victory this week and last on “Put These On The Card“. They are 5-1 and looking like the best team in baseball. With all that being said, Snell is a good pitcher and they can’t win every single game. I like the odds here and the Padres need to keep pace with the Dodgers.

Los Angles Dodgers ML -148 @ Diamondbacks….. D-Backs are a good young team. The Dodgers are still the Dodgers though and are still the best team on the west coast. The Dodgers need to keep up their lead on the Padres with a win here and to continue their good start. This is just kind of a gut pick, the pitching should be even I just like L.A.’s bats more here.

2023 Masters Betting Guide

A tradition unlike any other. The 2023 Masters starts tomorrow in Augusta, Georgia. Players will be teeing off in search of Golf immortality. The green jacket represents a brotherhood. To be considered a legend in the game, you need to have one in your closet.

The 2023 Masters is going to be an electric event because of the built-in rivalry of the LIV Golfers and the PGA pros. Which league will have the best showing? Will it come down to the Amen Corner of 11, 12, & 13? I sure as hell can’t wait for the walk over Hogan’s Bridge on Sunday with only 6 to play for icon status.

It is always hard to predict one winner of any golf tournament. Factor in the most famous and possibly toughest tournament in the world, and it is damn near impossible. That is why I have a few names you should consider betting on for the 2023 Masters.

Scottie Scheffler +700… He is the world’s number one ranked golfer and the reigning Masters champion. This may be an obvious pick to win the 2023 Masters, but it has to be made. He has already won the Phoenix Open and The Players Championship this year and has 4 more top ten finishes. I have to ride the hot hand here and take him as my favorite to win.

Justin Thomas +2100….. This Louisville Kentucky native has 15 career wins and 2 major championships. He has finished in the top 10 twice in his 7 Masters appearances. This is great value here for one of the world’s best when he is on; and this year he has looked good with 3 top 10 finishes.

Brooks Koepka +4400…. He was supposed to be the “new guy” when he joined the PGA tour in 2014. His career started off very hot with Brooks winning 4 major championships in three years. Koepka’s biggest enemy is his own damn head. If he stays out of it and plays golf, he is a world top 10 player. I really love the fact that he won the Orlando LIV Tour Event last week. When he wins, he tends to get on a roll and at 44-1, he is a great dark horse.

I would also tell you to have all three of these guys to finish top 10. Now remember the Masters is an unforgiving course. If the guys you bet on are not in contention on Saturday, regroup and bet with what you have seen so far.

Put These On The Card!

Its hump day and we are 4-2 this week on “Put these on the card“. If it wasn’t for my love of my shitty Mets we would be undefeated. I will not be making that mistake today I promise that.

Atlanta Braves ML +110 @ Cardinals…. I said a rule of thumb this year is whenever the Braves are plus money hammer them. It worked last night and it will work again today. Mikloas was hit around by the Blue Jays in his first start and the Braves have just as good if not better of a lineup. I love the Braves here to win.

Baltimore Orioles ML +154 @ Rangers… This is all because I hate Jacob DeGrom and he got smashed last week vs. the Phillies. I hate how he never wanted to pitch for the Mets, just wanted his next contract. He does not love the game just his money, so fuck him lets go O’s.

Chicago White Sox ML -134 vs. Giants…. Since the fiance is a Yankee’s fan I was forced to watch them play the Giants last week. San Fran’s lineup is not very good, and neither is their pitching. Match that with the Sox throwing their ace in Cease, I think the south siders handle their business tonight.

Dave Portnoy: Racist? Or Gambler?

A lot of the Twitterverse has said that Dave Portnoy is a racist because of his tweet calling LSU basketball player Angel Reese a piece of shit and classless.

I mean there is no doubt that he did call her that. Does that mean he is racist though? People are claiming that he celebrated Caitlyn Clark for doing the same thing, but was it the same thing? In my opinion, one was during the middle of the game when shit talking is always prevalent. What Reese did was when the game was all but over and even after the whistle. You can be the judge for yourself if that was the same thing or not.

If you think that both of those “you can’t see me” gestures are the same, does that make Dave Portnoy racist; or does it make him a gambler that was pissed off he lost a bet? Is it actually sexist of people calling him a racist because he bashed a black female basketball player? Look at the track record of El Pres. He bashes everyone regardless of skin color, sex, religion, if he has a bet on the other side. Nobody bats an eye when he makes comments about a man, regardless of race. But this comment becomes an issue because she was a woman?

Women want equal rights when it comes to sports and how they are covered. Should fans not treat them the same way they treat the guys? I am not saying calling even a man a piece of shit is right, but let’s not be naive it happens thousands of times a game; whether it is just a rival player or if someone has money on the other side. I think Dave is just an equal opportunity hater on whoever he is against in gambling or his favorite teams, ask Goodell.

Take a second. If you actually listen to his explanation and not jump to conclusions, form your own opinion without the race baiting. I personally think that the headline Dave Portnoy is Racist is lazy, but it will get a lot more clicks than Degenerate Gambler Bashes LSU Player.
