Must Watch Barstool Sports FDNY & NYPD Hockey Documentary

The FDNY beat the NYPD 8-5 on the scoreboard tonight. Heroes outside the arena, legends on the ice. That was the tagline tweeted out by Barstool Sports to describe this amazing game. As a fellow New Yorker and as someone who has had friends and family in the FDNY, I know about this rivalry. Now thanks to Barstool Sports the whole country can get a taste.

It is both the most hated and most respected rivalry in sports and in life. You talk to either side of this rivalry the first thing out of their mouths are “I’m a fireman” or “I’m a policeman”. The pride each side has in their brotherhood is really on display in this game.

This is now the 6th straight win for the FDNY vs. their brothers in blue. I am not going to go into analysis I am sure you can watch the game on Barstool’s youtube. Just doing a quick little write up on the game being played and broadcasted to begin with. I will say it was the FDNY jumping out early. The NYPD fighting back and coming up just short. Stick around for the end of the game, the fights are epic.

I can’t end this blog without saying what an excellent job by Barstool Sports. The pregame, the call, the color, the post game all first class. This game will and should be an annual tradition for all hockey fans waiting for the playoffs. Whitney and Biz from Spittin Chiclets were so good on the call along with Jake Marsh. It was just so professional done, yet unbelievably entertaining. It sounds like a rant and probably not great English just a hell of a job by Barstool Sports.
