Dave Portnoy: Racist? Or Gambler?

A lot of the Twitterverse has said that Dave Portnoy is a racist because of his tweet calling LSU basketball player Angel Reese a piece of shit and classless.

I mean there is no doubt that he did call her that. Does that mean he is racist though? People are claiming that he celebrated Caitlyn Clark for doing the same thing, but was it the same thing? In my opinion, one was during the middle of the game when shit talking is always prevalent. What Reese did was when the game was all but over and even after the whistle. You can be the judge for yourself if that was the same thing or not.

If you think that both of those “you can’t see me” gestures are the same, does that make Dave Portnoy racist; or does it make him a gambler that was pissed off he lost a bet? Is it actually sexist of people calling him a racist because he bashed a black female basketball player? Look at the track record of El Pres. He bashes everyone regardless of skin color, sex, religion, if he has a bet on the other side. Nobody bats an eye when he makes comments about a man, regardless of race. But this comment becomes an issue because she was a woman?

Women want equal rights when it comes to sports and how they are covered. Should fans not treat them the same way they treat the guys? I am not saying calling even a man a piece of shit is right, but let’s not be naive it happens thousands of times a game; whether it is just a rival player or if someone has money on the other side. I think Dave is just an equal opportunity hater on whoever he is against in gambling or his favorite teams, ask Goodell.

Take a second. If you actually listen to his explanation and not jump to conclusions, form your own opinion without the race baiting. I personally think that the headline Dave Portnoy is Racist is lazy, but it will get a lot more clicks than Degenerate Gambler Bashes LSU Player.

UConn Dominate in National Title Game

The title says it all. The UConn Huskies blew through each of their opponents in this year tournament. The Championship game ending 76-59 and it wasn’t even that close. They now have 5 titles in the last 25 years, 2 more than blue blood programs North Carolina and Duke.

I wouldn’t call UConn a blue blood just because of their recent run of success. They are definitely the top of the New Blood programs, with Villanova joining them at the top.

College basketball is changing with the NIL and the transfer portal. Will there be more New Bloods to come after the old Blue Bloods? I can’t wait to tip off next year and the greatest postseason in sports.

Put These On The Card!

Little bit of a rocky week on put these on the card. If you followed all they plays we took a lot of L’s but are still up 1.5 units. I apologize for the shitty performance and we will bounce back this week because I am not going fucking anywhere.

I want to give you the best winning pick and last week I chased the plus signs for the high unit wins. I got greedy and chased the big plays. This week it’s all about win loss record. So put these on the card for your Monday.

New York Mets +1.5 @ Brewers…. I think Cookie Carrasco pitches good tonight in his 2023 Mets debut. The bats for the Mets have been pretty hot early on in the year. They are a better team then the Brewers and with them getting a run and half it is a no brainer. If you want take the moneyline but I am playing it safe and taking the guaranteed win.

New York Yankees ML -178 vs. Phillies…. I actually think this game will be close early with good starting pitching from Nestor and Walker, both underrated starters. This will come down to bullpen and timely hitting and I just like the Yankees lineup and pen better than the Phillies.

UConn ML-335 vs. San Diego State… Look I know this is a huge juice bag play. I am just so damn hot and cold with this tournament that I want the sure W. There is no way UConn doesn’t win this game so I am just starting my week with easy wins to ease into the gambling week.

Have a happy Monday and let’s start this week off hot!!! Follow us on: Twitter, Tik Tok, Instagram and Youtube.

Buzzer Beating Win For S.D.S.U!!!!!

HOLY SHIT!! Aztecs 72- Owls-71. Butler hits a 15-foot buzzer beating 2 pointer to advance the Aztecs in the final four to the championship game! Lamont Butler with ice in his veins nails the elbow jumper. Holy shit. What a shot!

Coach Dutcher down 1 point with 9 seconds left, let his guys determine the outcome of the game. He did not call time out. He let his players play and they made the play to win the game.

What an unbelievable comeback, down 14 at one point in the second half. Matt Bradley kept San Diego State in the game with his 21 points scored and 6 rebounds, but Lamont Butler will be remembered forever in Aztec lore.

What a great run by F.A.U and an amazing game with the Owls leading most of the way, lead by Alijah Martin and his 26 points scored and 7 rebounds. Still teams ranked 9 or higher are now 0-10 in final four games. Holy shit, what a game!

Put These On The Card

Alright, Alright hands up I sucked on yesterday’s “Put these on the card”. It was kind of damn ugly, but if you read between the lines I did say Alonso to homer would hit and it was +550 so you should still be up units.

We are so going to bounce back today. No plays on baseball today. When you’re cold chill out and come back another day. Today we are respecting the greatness of March Madness and I have three plays for y’all today.

San Diego State vs. Florida Atlantic

San Diego State ML -140 vs. F.A.U. ….Offense is fun, but defense wins championships. I expect this to be an absolute rock fight. It will be a close, defensive game but in the end the Aztecs close out the Owls with their amazing defense and timely shooting.

UConn vs. Miami

Miami ML + 205 vs. UConn…. Look this might be one of my craziest picks on put these on the card. UConn has absolutely dominated their first four opponents in the tournament covering by an average of 17 points. Just look a little deeper though. Iona not great. St Mary’s and Arkansas were both just average teams and they played a good Gonzaga team.

Miami has went through the gauntlet so far. Lots of “experts” had them losing to a very good Drake team. Then they played a top Big 10 team in Indiana. Houston was picked to win it all by a lot of people, oh then they played Texas for the entrance in the final four in Texas. There is just something about this team, everyone can score and play defense. Coach Larranga just has magic in the tournament so I have to ride the Canes.

Miami ML & San Diego State ML Boosted on the Fanduel Sports Book to +422. If you are going to bet these two you have to parlay them as well and get a great boost in the odds. Enjoy the end of the best postseason in sports and remember Units Only Go Up.

Breaking!! Hunter Dickinson To Duke!!!

Hunter Dickinson to Duke, wow that sounds awesome for this Duke fan. This would be a dream come true headline if I were to see it on Goodman or Fanta’s twitter. Yeah, sorry for the clickbait, but we are a new site so every click is vital.

The hate for Duke comes from the elitism they exude. It also comes from the gates or characters throughout their history. Laettner, Redick, Allen. Yes, all talented white boys.

Just hear me out real quick. We all either love Duke or they are the New York Yankees evil empire of college basketball. There is no in between when it comes to the Cameron Crazies.

Now imagine putting Dickinson there. He is already hated by a lot. Add the Duke catalyst, it would be electric. Seeing another unbelievably talented Duke player to hate on is exactly what college basketball needs.

Duke would be the automatic favorite to win it all next year. Proctor and Mitchell both said they are coming back. Even if Lively and Whitehead go to the draft, I think Filipowski is going to stay, plus Roach and the great recruits coming in next year. This team would be unbeatable with the talent and experience.

Dickinson could take his rightful place as King of the hated at Duke. The Blue Devils would win a title and all would be well in college basketball. Plus his podcast buddy on Roundball Marty Mush would be thrilled.

Creighton Loses in the Elite 8 to SDSU 57-56

One of the most physical games of the tournament was this afternoon when Creighton went up against SDSU. These two teams took the same airplane ride to Maui and are clearly the two best teams that emerged from that tournament.

The first half was a dogfight in terms of offense/defense. This play was from the first half and almost took out the WestwoodOne(National) and 1620The Zone(Omaha) play-by-play teams.

@nickbahe gets wet along with a WestwoodOne producer, While John Bishop is unscathed.

The second half SDSU clearly exerted a TKO in terms of physicality. Ryan Kalkbrenner was beat up, Ryan Nembhard injured his wrist early in the half and had to get it looked at. A hooking call against Kalkbrenner really changed the momentum of the game to SDSU’s favor. The game would be a back-and -forth of field goals, until with seconds left, this foul was called.

I’m firmly in the camp that this wasn’t a foul, but you hope officiating doesn’t dictate the outcome of the game. THIS CLEARLY DID, but as you will see below, many things could have gone better for the jays. here’s Nembhard, Coach Mac, and Team with their reactions on what happened.

It still was a legendary season getting to the elite 8. This team was counted out after the 6 game losing streak in January, including a loss to in-state rival Nebraska. The preseason news of a final 4 bid could have been correct by the newsmakers, but was 2 points away. We could blame Rico Bosco for being a mush and bandwagoning day of.

We’re also not gonna bury Darren Rovell for placing a futures bet for Creighton to win it all

We’re gonna follow coach Mac and take the high road, was a good season, but in the end, didn’t do enough to get it done. Theres only one thing left to say, and that is Thank You Jays for an Incredible Season!
