Hi, my name is Tyler Allen, I am one of the people of the blog, and I own half of this excellent blog onthecardsports.com. I thought It would be an excellent series to start to begin to put a face to a name along with a story. We eventually want to expand too, and so this would be a great way to introduce new bloggers and content creators to the website.
This is what I usually look like most of the time, backwards red sox cap, glasses, unshaven. The things I do for OTC are mostly technology related, I put together this website and execute all thing administration for it. JohhnyB recruited me because *his words, not mine,* the king of figuring tech stuff out, and doing it well! I also edit audio and video for various podcasts that we will start in the future on this website as well. Let me take you back to how we arrive here.
I was a nobody, an avid sports-watcher, degenerate gambler, and political shit talker. I went to college at University of Nebraska Kearney, learned a bunch of instruments, passionate about music, but fell in love with doing live sound and post production for music stuff.
In between the busy schedule of doing music/recording stuff, sports and pro wrestling was my escape. I kept tuned up during college talking to the sports management broadcasting majors, woodshedding sports takes. I would also start flirting with gambling, utilizing every offshore sportsbook/fantasy sportsbook I could get my hands on. I recorded and mixed some records, but most of my time would be delivering food to people and coming home to mix and finish projects.
I would listen to the combat sports channel when I was delivering sandwiches, Busted Open would be on early in the day, Luke Thomas would be on in the afternoon, but this Barstool radio occupied the middle of the day for two hours. I first thought Dave Portnoy sounded more french canadian-kevin owens-like. It would eventually grow to its own channel along with my curiosity about “content creation.”
When Barstool Radio expanded into a full-blown channel, the former Indianapolis punter, Pat McAfee occupied the morning for 3 hours. I would often wake up to him saying “good morning beautiful people…” following with an inspirational quote to attack the day. I was a fan and was going to the Chiefs game, as a Charger fan at the time (now converted.) So I decided to buy a “for the brand” shirt in red, to just blend in. anyone asks I was a chiefs fan, just so I could get out the stadium alive.
I got noticed, a lot… My phone blew up, I didn’t notice initially, but people were hunting for me.
Then I was found and this was Pat’s Response.

Anyway, I was recruited to start to put together a show for a bunch of us fans. I knew how to record and edit things and was tasked to figure out the best ways to record the show remotely. At first, We were loudmouth degenerates, but eventually we settled on “The Anomalies.”
Putting together shows remotely wasn’t quite as a well-known thing to do as we know now, post pandemic. So doing this show initially turned some heads asking how I did it.
Trev at Pro Sports Extra was most impressed. A few of the guys from The Anomalies were already blogging for the site already, so it made much sense to add ourselves as multimedia project as well. I would get to do many projects, mee people that I would never think I would ever meet in real life, and do Live streams with people, and one of those people I got to meet was Johnny B!
Eventually, We both left PSE for better ground, doing projects for ourselves and various other outlets. I went on to be a founding member of the Iron Ostrich Network, A network of shows and have an alliance with. Johnny B went on to do Spiked and wanted to do more shows, not just a College Football show. I ended up inviting the spiked boys to the network.
Which brings us up to now. Johnny and I have always wanted to talk about gambling on sports so this is what we decided to do with it is this website. He would crank out content, and I would do some content but do all the behinds the scenes technical stuff.
